Weight Loss - Not Enough Time In The Day?

Filed under: Health and Fitness by admin

Does this sound like you? Up by 4:30 AM. Get the kids ready for school. Meeting with the boss at eight and you can’t be late. Errands to run in the evening. Come home and cook dinner. Get the kids ready for bed and get ready to repeat the whole process again for tomorrow.

If this is a typical day for you it’s of little wonder that you don’t have time to exercise and watch what you eat. In our society everything is rush, rush, rush. A hectic day is now the norm for many of you and there doesn’t seem like there is any end in sight.

At the top of your list, though is your desire to still get in shape by losing those inches around the hips and waist. That’s the reason you haven’t thrown out those pair of jeans that you had since high school.

The big question is how do you get into a weight loss routine with all the activities going on in your life. With a new task popping up all the time, getting into a routine appears almost impossible.

Well, even though it won’t be easy, it is possible. It is going to take a lot of preparation and dedication on your part, but hey, if it can get you back into those jeans, then it will be well worth it.

What to do.

The secret to losing weight while maintaining a hectic schedule is to plan and to learn how to take advantage of opportunities to burn fat when they present themselves. The more you plan ahead and become aware of those times to burn a couple of extra calories, the better your chances of getting back into those jeans.

The following are some simple things you can do to help get you on your way.

Prepare meals in advance.

Hopefully this is a no brainer for you. Having your meals already prepared lowers the likelihood of you eating burgers and fries or some other less than waist-friendly meal.

Keep a container of water nearby.

Keeping your body flushed with water is an old and little utilize method for burning calories.

Take the stairs instead of the elevator.

Elevators are convenient, but quickly walking up or down a flight or two of stairs will not only burn some calories, it’s good for a quick pick-me-up when you feeling tired.

Exercise during tv time.

Most of you guys take time out to watch tv at night. Why not place a stepper like those used in step aerobics to the side and go for a walk while you watch. Be sure to alternate which foot you step with first.

Park at the back of the parking lot.

Those few extra steps quickly start to add up when done routinely.

Graze during the day.

Graze on healthy snacks such as carrots, apples, health bars, anything that will help curve your hunger and to keep your metabolism churning. Just make sure that the food you’re grazing on is healthy and nutritious. And just to be clear, chips and soda don’t count.
